Kenneth Isaiah Ibasco AbanteKenneth Isaiah Ibasco Abante (Ken) is currently President of WeSolve Foundation, where he works with socially disadvantaged communities towards policy and systems change, including the Move As One Coalition for sustainable transport and the People’s Budget Coalition for budget transparency and accountability. From 2012 to 2016, Ken served in the Department of Finance in roles covering tax, customs, local finance, budget, economic policy and strategy, and the leadership transition. Ken finished with a management engineering program and a minor in philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University in 2012; and a master in public administration in international development from Harvard Kennedy School in 2019, where he also teaches math in the summer to mid-career masters students. He loves to cook adobo, but recognizes his cooking is not nearly as good as his mother's.

Michelle AlarconAn analytics practitioner since 1999, Michelle founded the consulting firm Z-Lift Solutions in 2013, serving as its President and enabling organizations on analytics. In 2017, she co-founded the Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines (AAP) to develop the ecosystem by upskilling the country on analytics and AI; she currently serves as its President. In 2020, Michelle became the Head of Learning at For The Women Foundation, a non-profit organization providing free training on data science to underprivileged women; she became its co-founder in 2021. 

This year, she became part of the Board of Trustees of GoDigital Pilipinas, a private sector-led organization under the Private Sector Advisory Council of the President aiming to uplift Filipino lives through digital services adoption. 
She graduated with a degree in Statistics from the University of the Philippines, and currently teaches at the Professional Master in Data Science and Analytics program of her alma mater. 
 

Eliezer AmbataliThis young man was born in Roxas, Isabela to a farmer and an educator named Eulogio and Thelma.  He graduated in Elementary and High School as the valedictorian of his class. He took his Bachelor of Science in Statistics at the University of the Philippines Diliman, went to Arellano University School of Law, and was admitted to the Bar in 2016, and took his Master of Laws at San Beda University. 

Prior to his appointment in PSA, he was the Tax Consulting Manager at Punongbayan and Araullo, a renowned accounting firm at the heart of Makati City, and several companies that fully enriched his expertise. 

Currently, he is the Director III of Legal Service and is said to be the youngest Director of the Philippine Statistics Authority. 
 

Dinnah Feye AndalFeye Andal is a geospatial analyst and proponent of open data. She holds a Master's degree in Geography from the University of the Philippines Diliman and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the same institution. Feye applies her love of technology and geography to make a long-lasting, positive societal impact. As an engaged volunteer, Feye provides valuable assistance to OSM Philippines, where she co-founded a local chapter of YouthMappers, UP Resilience Institute YouthMappers. Through this initiative, Feye fosters a vibrant community of young mappers and supports them using geospatial data and open-source tools. Moreover, Feye is actively involved with GeoLadies PH, advancing the knowledge of gender inclusion in geospatial studies. On top of that, Feye serves as a Regional Ambassador of YouthMappers, helping young people tap into the potential of mapping and open-source tools. In addition to her skill set in geography, she is proficient in coding with Python, allowing her to craft novel solutions. Her dedication to teaching and mentoring brings her joy as she imparts her expertise to youth, motivating them to explore the possibilities of utilizing open mapping to re-shaping our world.

Bernadette BalambanShe is the Chief Statistical Specialist of the Poverty and Human Development Statistics Division (PHDSD) and one of the Team Leaders of the SDG Team of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which is responsible for the overall coordination of monitoring of the SDG indicators in the country. Their unit is also responsible for the estimation of the official poverty statistics of the Philippines and coordinator of the Technical Committee on Poverty Statistics. She is a Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the University of the Philippines-Diliman and completed Master of Applied Statistics at the Australian National University (ANU). She started her professional career by working at the former National Statistical Coordination Board in 1999, which is now part of the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Lorenzo Faustino BaquiranLorenzo Faustino Baquiran is a faculty member of the University of the Philippines School of Statistics that graduated Magna Cum Laude in the School's Bachelor of Science in Statistics program. He is also currently taking up the School's Master of Science in Statistics program and is interested in using statistics to shed light on social phenomena such as social migration and looking into doing research on land transportation.

Daniel Joseph BenitoDaniel Joseph Benito holds a masters in Applied Mathematics with Specialization in Mathematical Finance from Ateneo De Manila University, where he is also a part-time instructor. He is the Executive Director of The Storytelling Project (TSP), an NGO that fosters love of reading through inspiration to cultivate imagination, inspiration and hope. He is also project manager at WeSolve foundation,  youth-powered coalition incubator and collaboration accelerator for systems change in the Philippines. He has worked as a researcher and data analyst for various government institutions such as BSP,NEDA, PSA  and research groups in the fields of economics, finance, health and development. 

He has been an active volunteer in various service-oriented organizations, and was the president of Alay ni Ignacio, a student organization that provides formation programs among public high school students, in 2015-2017. He was also awarded as the Most Outstanding Individual by Ateneo's Loyola Schools Awards for Leadership and Service in 2016. He strongly believes in the power of education in building a better tomorrow for our country. 
 

Dr. Lisa Grace S. Bersales was formally sworn in as the Undersecretary for Population and Development and the Executive Director V of the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) last 13 January 2023. She was a professor in statistics at the University of the Philippines where she also served as Dean of the School of Statistics in the Diliman campus and Vice President for Planning and Finance of the System. She is the first national statistician of the Philippines and led the implementation of the Philippine Statistics Act of 2013 by setting up the Philippine Statistics Authority in 2014. She actualized the Public Private Partnership for the Civil Registration System Information Technology Project Phase 2 of the Philippines in 2016 and chaired the working group on the Philippine ID system that provided inputs to the Philippine Identification System Act enacted in 2018 and signed its Implementing Rules and Regulation in the same year. Globally, her significant contributions include being co-chair of UN Statistical Commission’s Inter-Agency and Expert Group on SDGs indicators from 2015 to 2017 which developed the global indicator framework of the Sustainable Development Goal, chair of the executive committee of PARIS21 from April 2016 to April 2019, vice chair of the Regional Steering Group for the CRVS Decade of Asia and the Pacific from 2015 to 2016 representing the Philippines, and chair of the 20th International Conference of Labour Statisticians in 2018. She is currently a member of the advisory group of Cepei based in Colombia, a member of the Thematic Research Network for Data and Statistics (TReNDS) of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network based in New York and in the editorial team of the Statistical Journal of the International Association of Official Statistics. Her recent consultancies involve enhancing the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics of the Philippines for WHO from November 2021 to December 2022; Evaluation of the Gender Component of the Programme on Statistics and Data for the UN Capacity Development Programme Management Office-DESA from November 2021 to February 2022; writing the first world report on health of refugees and migrants for WHO from May 2021 to January 2022; Piloting of the Guidelines concerning statistics of international labour migration in Philippines for ILO from October 2020 to February 2021.

Informed by his education and experience in engineering, statistics, and human rights work, Xavier collaborates with communities to create a positive impact for LGBTQI people and people living with HIV through scientific and strategic use of data.

At present, he is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. He is also the current Director for Research of UP School of Statistics.

Prior to joining the faculty of UP, he served as the National Consultant on HIV and LGBTI of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Philippines and worked with the country's multi-agency UN Joint Team on AIDS and UNDP in Asia and the Pacific. He has also worked on research and development projects funded by government and non-government institutions, such as the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines, United States Agency for International Development, and civil society organisations working on LGBTQI and human rights issues.

His research works have been published in several academic journals. He studies computational statistics, social research methodologies, and applied social statistics, with focus on digital data and data on gender, sexuality, and human rights.

He has been a licensed engineer in the Philippines since 2018.

Joe Brillantes is a generalist problem-solver enabling data-driven decisions through Statistical Analysis, Forecasting, Predictive Modeling, and Mathematical Optimization. He has more than a decade of experience building and leading analytics teams, and working with technology consulting, consumer electronics manufacturing, semiconductor, and containerized shipping companies in the Asia-Pacific, the US, and Scandinavia. He is currently the data and analytics lead of Alaska Milk Corporation (FrieslandCampina), a leading producer of dairy products in the Philippines. He is also a co-organizer of the R Users Group – Philippines. He has a master's degree (Mathematics – Business Track) from Ateneo de Manila University, and a bachelor's degree (Mathematics Education) from Brigham Young University – Hawaii.

Laura Britt-FermoDr. Laura Britt-Fermo obtained her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of the Philippines School of Economics (UPSE) at the University of the Philippines Diliman with Cum Laude honors and received the Gerardo P. Sicat award for Second-Best Undergraduate Thesis in 1993. During her M.A. in Economics, Dr. Fermo completed the coursework and passed the comprehensive exams among the top 10% of the batch and was invited by the UPSE to join its Ph.D. Economics Program. She was a Lecturer for International Economics as well as for Trade, Payments and Development for three semesters at the UPSE. She finally completed and obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from Keio University of Tokyo, Japan in 2017. She was the first ever recipient of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS)' RONPAKU Ph.D. by Dissertation scholarship who graduated with a Ph.D. in pure Economics in the Philippines, and the first BSP employee to have been awarded this JSPS scholarship. 

In February 2021, she joined the newly created BSP Research Academy, where she is currently one of the Principal Researchers/Director. She has been awarded with the BSP Citation for GAWAD Kalinga Award for Excellence in 2018, and the Most Outstanding Filipino JSPS RONPAKU Fellow in the field of Economics in 2022. 

She is currently the Vice President of the JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines and the President of both the BSP Art Club and the Kababaihan sa Sining at Bagong Sibol na Kamalayan (KASIBULAN)—the only all-women’s art group in the country today. 
 

Peter Julian A. CaytonHe is currently an Associate Professor II at University of the Philippines, Diliman and a member of the UP COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team. He has a doctorate degree (Statistics) from the Australian National University, a master’s degree (Statistics) and a bachelor's degree (Statistics) from UP Diliman, wherein he graduated as Magna Cum Laude.
