As of 01 July 2020, the total cattle inventory in the country was 2.60 million heads, which was 1.4 percent higher than the 2.56 million heads recorded in the same period of the previous year. Of the total cattle inventory, 94.0 percent were raised in backyard farms while the remaining 6.0 percent were from commercial farms.
The top three regions, in terms of inventory, were Ilocos Region, Central Visayas and CALABARZON. These regions contributed 34.2 percent to the country’s total cattle population. (Figure 2 and Table 2)
