Central Luzon has the Largest Contribution to the 2023 Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries (at Constant 2018 Prices)

In 2023, the value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices amounted to PhP 1.76 trillion. Across regions, Central Luzon contributed the biggest share in the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries at 13.5 percent. Northern Mindanao and Western Visayas followed with 10.1 percent share and 9.4 percent share, respectively. (Figure 1 and Table 1.3)

Central  Visayas  registered  the  fastest  annual  growth  in  the  value  of  production  in  agriculture  and  fisheries  at  7.6 percent. This was followed by MIMAROPA Region at 7.0 percent and Eastern Visayas at 3.4 percent.

On the other hand, the biggest decline in the value of production in agriculture and fisheries was posted in Bicol Region at 7.6 percent. Similarly, reductions in the value of production were noted in Western Visayas at 5.7 percent and SOCCSKSARGEN at 4.3 percent. (Table 1.1)

The total value of crop production at constant 2018 prices was recorded at PhP 1.00 trillion in 2023. Northern Mindanao accounted for the highest share in the total value of crop production at 11.7 percent. Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon came second and third with shares of 10.6 percent and 9.7 percent, respectively. In terms of annual growth, Central Visayas recorded the highest growth in the value of crop production among all regions at 24.3 percent. (Tables 1.1 and 1.3)

At constant 2018 prices, the total value of livestock production was estimated at PhP 0.26 trillion in 2023. The top three regions with the highest contribution to the value of livestock production were CALABARZON with 13.1 percent share, Central Visayas with 12.7 percent share, and Northern Mindanao with 11.3 percent share. For the year-on-year growth, Central Luzon registered the highest increment at 30.0 percent in the value of production. This was followed by MIMAROPA Region at 16.9 percent, Ilocos Region at 14.1 percent, and CALABARZON at 12.2 percent. (Tables 1.1 and 1.3)

For poultry, the total value of production in 2023 was valued at PhP 0.26 trillion at constant 2018 prices. The top three regions with the highest contribution in the value of poultry production were Central Luzon with 27.0 percent share, CALABARZON with 19.3 percent share, and Northern Mindanao with 9.5 percent share. In terms of annual growth, higher increments in the value of poultry production were noted in Eastern Visayas at 24.2 percent, BARMM at 11.24 percent, and MIMAROPA Region at 11.19 percent. The total value of fisheries production amounted to PhP 0.24 trillion at constant 2018 prices. Central Luzon contributed 18.1 percent to the total value of fisheries production. For the annual growth, increases in fisheries production were registered in MIMAROPA Region at 28.9 percent, NCR at 19.3 percent and Caraga at 6.3 percent. (Tables 1.1 and 1.3)
