The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will be announcing the awardees of the Outstanding Local Civil Registry Offices (LCRO) for the year 2020 during the third day of the first ever National Convention on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (1NCCRVS) to be held via video conferencing from 01 to 03 September 2021.
More popularly known as the LCRO Awards, the annual recognition is being given by the PSA-Office of the Civil Registrar General to its partners in the registration of vital events nationwide.
Specifically, it seeks to: (1) encourage efficiency and productivity, innovativeness, and creativity in the LCROs; (2) acknowledge the LCROs’ initiatives in supporting the programs and activities relevant to the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS); (3) promote values of participation and cooperation; and (4) align the incentive system with results-based performance in the delivery of timely, accurate, and reliable products and efficient civil registration services.
The selection of the Outstanding LCROs was based on their ratings in terms of activities undertaken during the period January to December 2020 particularly on the submitted Civil Registry Documents and Narrative Reports to the PSA-Provincial Statistical Offices and to the Civil Registration Service (CRS) of the PSA-Central Office (CO).
Ten outstanding LCROs in each of the following categories: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Super Extra Large as well as special awards for exceptional LCROs, who have exhibited remarkable performance in CRVS, shall be given due recognition. The classification of the LCROs into different categories are determined by the number of civil registry documents on vital events such as births, marriages, and deaths, that have been registered during the year 2020 and submitted to the PSA CO for inclusion in the CRS database and Archiving.
Through the LCRO awards, PSA aims to inspire and motivate everyone to be involved, and to actively participate in all CRVS initiatives, and to be able to improve the delivery of services to the Filipino people amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
