BARMM Registered the Highest Growth in the Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries at 7.2 percent in 2021

BARMM posted the highest growth among the 16 regions in the value of production at constant 2018 prices at 7.2 percent in 2021. In addition, the regions with production increments were the following: Central Visayas at 5.0 percent, MIMAROPA Region at 3.5 percent, Northern Mindanao at 2.9 percent, Western Visayas at 2.8 percent, Cagayan Valley at 2.3 percent, and Zamboanga Peninsula at 1.7 percent.

                                          

Meanwhile, CALABARZON recorded a double-digit decrease in the value of production at -13.3 percent. Central Luzon and Caraga came next with -9.2 percent and -6.8 percent drop, respectively. Lower values of production were also noted in Bicol Region at -4.8 percent, Ilocos Region at -3.4 percent, CAR at -2.8 percent, Davao Region at -0.9 percent, Eastern Visayas at -0.7 percent, and SOCCSKSARGEN at -0.6 percent. (Figure 1 and Table 1.1)

For crops, Cagayan Valley registered the biggest increment at 5.9 percent. This was followed by MIMAROPA Region and Central Visayas with 4.9 percent growth each.  In the case of livestock, MIMAROPA Region posted a double-digit increase at 15.4 percent. The region also had the highest increase in poultry at 9.3 percent. Expansions in the value of fisheries production were noted in BARMM at 22.8 percent, Davao Region at 12.2 percent, and Central Luzon at 12.1 percent. (Table 1.1)

On the share of each region to the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries, Central Luzon contributed the largest share at 12.9 percent. Likewise, the region was the biggest contributor to the value of poultry and fisheries production at 27.6 percent and 16.9 percent, respectively. On the other hand, Northern Mindanao accounted for the biggest share in the total value of production for crops at 11.4 percent, and livestock at 11.7 percent. (Table 1.3)
