Davao Occidental Registered the Highest Annual Growth in the Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries at 4.0 percent in 2021 (At Constant 2018 Prices)

Davao Occidental registered the highest annual growth of 4.0 percent in the value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices among the provinces in Davao Region in 2021. In Davao de Oro, value of production in agriculture and fisheries inched up by 0.4 percent. On the other hand, decreases were noted in Davao del Norte at -2.0 percent, Davao Oriental at -1.5 percent, and Davao del Sur at -1.4 percent. (Figure 1)

The largest share to the region’s total value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices was recorded in Davao del Sur at 36.6 percent. The province also topped in livestock and poultry production with 57.3 percent share and 71.8 percent share, respectively. Moreover, Davao del Norte was the leading contributor in crop production with 33.0 percent share. For fisheries, Davao Occidental accounted for the biggest chunk at 34.6 percent.

At current prices, Davao del Sur had the highest value of production in agriculture and fisheries amounting to PhP 54.82 billion among the provinces in Davao Region. Davao del Norte came next which amounted to PhP 40.46 billion. This was followed by Davao de Oro at PhP 24.69 billion,Davao Oriental at PhP 15.77 billion, and Davao Occidental at PhP 10.49 billion.

The Provincial Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries serves as a primary input in the estimation of the Provincial Product Accounts.
