Rubber (cup lump) production decreased to 112.59 thousand metric tons or by -8.5 percent in the second quarter of 2023 from the 123.11 thousand metric tons output in the same quarter of 2022.

Among regions, BARMM was the leading contributor to rubber production during the quarter with 43.15 thousand metric tons or 38.3 percent share to the total production. Zamboanga Peninsula and SOCCSKSARGEN ranked second and third with 42.23 thousand metric tons and 17.91 thousand metric tons output, respectively. These regions accounted for 91.7 percent share to the total rubber production during the quarter.

The area planted with rubber from January to June 2023 increased to 239.65 thousand hectares or by 0.1 percent from the 239.52 thousand hectares area planted in the same period of 2022.
