  • The April to June 2023 coffee (green coffee beans) production was registered at 2.77 thousand metric tons, indicating an increase of 1.8 percent from the 2.72 thousand metric tons recorded production in the same quarter of 2022.

  • In terms of variety, Robusta was the most produced type of coffee with 1.63 thousand metric tons or 58.7 percent share to the country’s total coffee production during the period.

  • Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was the top coffee producer for this quarter with 710.23 metric tons output or 25.6 percent share to the total coffee production. This was followed by SOCCSKSARGEN with 658.86 metric tons and Davao Region with 619.92 metric tons. These regions accounted for 71.8 percent share to the country’s total coffee production during the period.

  • From January to June 2023, the area planted for all types of coffee was 111.19 thousand hectares, which indicates a decrease of -0.1 percent from the previous year’s same period area planted of 111.39 thousand hectares.
