The PSQ is an annual competition which aims to appraise the competency and skills of college freshmen in statistics as acquired from high school. The National Statistics Office and the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. organized this noble undertaking in 1992 with the advocacy of drumming up public awareness and appreciation of statistics. The CHEd began endorsing this competition in 1994.
