The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) approves the conduct of the 2023 Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI).
This survey provides quarterly data for each of the identified leading industry major groups in all sectors of the economy, except those in agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector. The results will be used as inputs in the generation of the Quarterly National Accounts (QNA), construction of the Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI) and for the monetary policy review of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Major data items to be collected in the survey are as follows:
- employment;
- compensation;
- value of production (for mining and quarrying and manufacturing sectors only);
- total revenue/sales;
- total inventory of goods; and
- capacity utilization.
The survey will cover about 6,000 establishments nationwide utilizing a total budget amounting to PhP 12.5 million. Questionnaires will be distributed and collected on the following dates:

The 2023 QSPBI was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to:
- ensure sound design for data collection;
- minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
- effect economy in statistical data collection;
- eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts; and
- achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
In line with this, the PSA enjoins all the establishments to support the QSPBI by providing the required information to authorized PSA interviewers who will visit the establishment to distribute and collect the questionnaire. Questionnaires can be also submitted online through the QSPBI webpage: https://qspbi.psa.gov.ph if face to face collection is not possible.
