On 14 August 2018, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) approved the conduct of the Corporate Financial Trends Survey (CFTS) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). 

 

The survey aims to gather data per industry from various non-financial corporations to improve the understanding on the recent trends on the financial condition of the corporate sector in 2016 and 2017. It will collect information on the sources and uses of funds (financial position), trends in liabilities, and trends in revenue of respondent corporations. The information will be used in generating a corporate database that will aid in formulating better policies necessary to help maintain a stable financial and monetary system that is conducive to strong and sustainable economic growth.

 

The tables and other outputs that will be generated from the survey include the following:

 

A total of 521 sample enterprises will be selected from the Business World’s list of Top 1,000 Corporations 2017 edition. The BSP will utilize a total of Php 1.3 million to support the conduct of this survey. Results of the survey are scheduled to be released in October 2018.

 

The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to:
