The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) granted clearance for the conduct of the Comprehensive Socio-Economic Survey (CSES) 2023 by Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) to perform periodic assessment of the program on the effectiveness of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and veracity of the list of household beneficiaries.
The CSES 2023 will be the fourth round of impact assessment of the program which aims to collect data that will be used in the analysis of the impact of 4Ps on target outcomes.
Specifically, data collected on the survey will assess the:
- condition of household health;
- condition of household education; and
- socio-economic conditions of the household.
There will be a total of 53,500 individuals, 10,000 households, 330 barangay offices, 300 health facilities and 170 schools will be selected nationwide to participate in the survey from August to September 2023. A total of PhP 38.5 million will be utilized for the survey with the results scheduled to be released in June 2024.
The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625 to:
- ensure sound design for data collection;
- minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
- effect economy in statistical data collection;
- eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts; and
- achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
In line with this, the PSA enjoins all sampled individuals, households, barangay offices, health facilities and schools to participate in the survey by providing the truthful information.
