Annual rate of CMRPI in NCR remained at 1.1 percent in October 2023

The annual rate of CMRPI in NCR retained its previous month’s year-on-year growth rate at 1.1 percent in October 2023. In October 2022, its annual increment was recorded at 6.6 percent. (Figure 1, and Tables A, 2, and 4)

Compared with their September 2023 annual rates, slower annual increases were noted in the indices of the following commodity groups in October 2023:    

a. Carpentry materials, 0.7 percent from 0.8 percent;   
b. Electrical materials, 0.8 percent from 1.0 percent;    
c. Masonry materials, 1.1 percent from 1.3 percent;
d. Painting materials and related compounds, 2.5 percent from 2.6 percent; and
e. Plumbing materials, 0.3 percent from 0.4 percent.

On the other hand, slower annual decline was observed in the index of miscellaneous construction materials at 1.2 percent in October 2023 from 1.3 percent annual drop in the previous month.

Meanwhile, tinsmithry materials retained its previous month’s annual growth rate at 2.8 percent. (Table 2)
