PSA Releases the Primer on the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2011-2017 Update

The Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2011-2017 Update Primer is now available on the PSA website.

The Primer presents the recent statistical developments, emerging information demands, and strategic thrusts of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS). The Primer also features the priorities for the development of statistics in the Philippines for 2016 and 2017, covering the following topics:

  • Pursuing Harmony and Quality Statistics
  • Advancing the Capacity of the PSS
  • Strengthening the Management of Information Systems, and Understanding and Use of Statistics
  • Statistics that Track Economic Progress
  • Statistics that Monitor the Environment, Peace and Security
  • Statistics that Influence Actions Towards Social Development
  • Investments for Statistical Development

The PSDP sets the medium term directions, thrusts and priorities of the PSS for the generation and dissemination of statistical information needed in planning, policy and decision-making. It is the Philippines’ equivalent of the National Strategies for the Development of Statistics advocated by the international community, which aims to address the data requirements of the medium term national development plan.
