The value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices increased by 1.8 percent in the third quarter of 2022. In particular, the value of crops, livestock, and poultry production posted increments. Meanwhile, the value of fisheries production dropped during the period. (Table 2a and Figure 1)

Crops, which accounted for 53.9 percent of the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries, went up by 1.8 percent. Increases in the value of palay and corn production were recorded at 1.0 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively. (Tables 2a, 2b, and 3a)

Livestock, which shared 15.6 percent to the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries, increased by 4.0 percent. The value of hog production grew by 4.5 percent. (Tables 2a, 2c, and 3a)

Poultry, with a 15.2 percent contribution to the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries, expanded by 6.4 percent. Except for duck, all poultry commodities registered growth in the value of production. (Tables 2a, 2c, and 3a)

The value of fisheries production declined by -4.2 percent. It accounted for 15.3 percent of the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries. Double-digit decrements were recorded in the value of production for the following species: mudcrab (alimango), blue crab (alimasag), Indian mackerel (alumahan), tiger prawn (sugpo), Bali sardinella (tamban), grouper (lapu-lapu), and milkfish (bangus). (Tables 2a, 2d, and 3a)

At current prices, the value of production in agriculture and fisheries, which amounted to PhP 501.58 billion, was 12.3 percent higher than the level in the same period last year. (Tables 4a and 5a)
