In line with the celebration of the National Women’s Month every March, the Philippine Statistics Authority issues a Fact Sheet on Women and Men in the Philippines, which includes the updated Philippine Core Gender and Development (GAD) Indicators and other latest statistics on women and men in the country. This year’s edition contains 120 indicators covering 20 socioeconomic sectors and gender concerns, namely:          

1) Population;                                            
2) Health and Nutrition;                            
3) Economic Status;                                   
4) Education;                                              
5) Work and Economic Participation;         
6) Social Protection;                                   
7) Social Welfare and Development;                
8) Violence against Women;                                         
9) Violence against Children;                      
10) Media;                                                    
11) Agriculture; 
12) Environment;    
13) Tourism;
14) Trade and Industry;
15) Public Life;
16) Institutional Mechanism;
17) Sustainable Development Goals particularly on Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality); 
18) The Filipino Youth;
19) Women Empowerment; and,
20) ASEAN  indicators.

The Factsheet, which can be accessed through the following link: https://psa.gov.ph/gender-stat/wmf, includes data from the latest surveys, statistical reports and publications such as the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey, 2022 Survey on Overseas Filipinos, 2021 Labor Force Survey, 2021 Family Income and Expenditure Survey also from administrative data sources such as the Enhanced Basic Education Information System (EBEIS) of the Department of Education (DepEd), and Higher Education Management Information System (HEMIS) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), among others. It hopes to provide relevant and user-friendly information on gender issues that are deemed important to planners, researchers and other users for evidence-based gender and development advocacy, planning, programming and policy setting.
