Measured from a year ago level, the Construction Materials Retail Price Index (CMRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) went down by 0.3 percent in July. It was posted at 0.1 percent last month and in July 2014, 1.3 percent. Annual declines were registered in the following indices: electrical materials, -1.6 percent; tinsmithry materials, -0.3 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials, -7.1 percent. In addition, slower annual upticks were noted in the indices of carpentry materials, 1.9 percent; masonry materials, 1.5 percent, painting materials and related compounds, 0.8 percent; and plumbing materials, 0.5 percent.

Month-on-Month
On a monthly basis, no movement was seen in the CMRPI in NCR. Last month, it grew by 0.3 percent.
All the commodity groups posted a zero growth as prices were stable during the month except for the indices of masonry materials and tinsmithry materials which decreased by 0.1 percent and miscellaneous construction materials, -0.3 percent.
Price cuts were noted in cement, corrugated GI sheets and steel bars.
