On an annual basis, the retail price index of selected construction materials in the National Capital Region went up to 4.2 percent in October from 4.0 percent in September. The annual adjustment in carpentry materials index grew by 1.4 percent in October from 1.3 percent in September; masonry materials index, 11.6 percent from 10.7 percent; painting materials and related compounds index; 1.0 percent from 0.9 percent; plumbing materials index, 2.0 percent from 1.9 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials index, 8.1 percent from 7.3 percent. The annual growth in electrical materials index however, remained at 7.9 percent. That for tinsmithry materials index was still negative at -2.8 percent from -3.7 percent.

The monthly change in the retail price index of selected construction materials in (NCR) picked up to 0.3 percent in October from -0.3 percent in September. Higher increments were recorded in the indices of the following commodity groups: masonry materials, 0.9 percent from -0.9 percent; tinsmithry materials, 0.6 percent from -0.2 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials, 1.7 percent from -2.0 percent. From zero growth, painting materials and related compounds index also inched up 0.2 percent and plumbing materials index, 0.1 percent. The same September rate of 0.1 percent was posted in carpentry materials index while electrical materials index continued to register a zero growth rate during the month.
Price add-ons were noted in cement, gravel, sand, sand paper, corrugated GI sheet and steel bars.
