The annual increment in the construction materials retail price index (CMRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) further decelerated to 1.2 percent in November from 1.8 percent in October. Negative annual rates were noted in the indices of carpentry materials and miscellaneous construction materials at -0.9 percent and -1.6 percent, respectively. In addition, a slower annual gain was posted in electrical materials index at 2.2 percent from 2.5 percent; masonry materials index, 2.9 percent from 4.0 percent; and plumbing materials index, 1.3 percent from 1.6 percent. On the other hand, a higher annual mark-up was recorded in tinsmithry materials index at 6.1 percent from 5.7 percent. The painting materials and related compounds index had a zero growth from 0.1 percent.

The CMRPI in NCR dropped by 0.3 percent in November from a growth of 0.1 percent in October. Declines were noted in carpentry materials index at -1.5 percent and in masonry materials and plumbing materials indices, -0.1 percent. Moreover, the index for painting materials and related compounds moved up at a slower pace of 0.2 percent from 0.5 percent. On the other hand, tinsmithry materials index picked up 0.5 percent from 0.1 percent and miscellaneous construction materials index, 0.3 percent from -2.1 percent. The electrical materials index had a zero growth from 0.5 percent.
Price cuts were recorded in plywood, gravel, faucet and GI pipes. Paints, cement and steel bars however, were generally priced higher during the month.
