As an essential part of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS)'s efforts to refine the quality and timeliness of its implementation processes, the CBMS Review and Assessment was conducted on 04 May 2023 at Southview Hotel, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.

Mr. Ramil Marko Tolledo from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) central office facilitated the discussion with the participation of officials from the PSA regional and provincial offices in Region VII – Central Visayas. During the activity, involved CBMS personnel shared helpful practices and aired out issues encountered during the CBMS operations in particular areas such as preparatory activities, operational training, field enumeration, map and data processing, and other matters.

The CBMS Review and Assessment served as a consultation among stakeholders which is an evidence of participatory approach towards inclusive community development. Its results served as guidance for the PSA in identifying areas for improvement and in addressing the needs and concerns of the field offices relative to the 2022 CBMS rollout.

Regional Director Engr. Ariel E. Florendo recognized in his welcoming remarks that the CBMS Review and Assessment is an important activity that will empower stakeholders and facilitate the sustainability of the CBMS as a statistical activity.

PSA, as the lead implementing agency of the CBMS, is committed to promoting accountability and transparency in the CBMS operations and to ensuring that every concern is attended to for the overall success of the next CBMS rollouts.
