    The Construction Materials Wholesale Price Index (CMWPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) registered an increment of 0.6 percent in June, the same rate posted in May. Increases were observed in the prices of lumber, 2.2 percent in June from 1.2 percent in May; fuels and lubricants, 0.9 percent from 0.8 percent; glass and glass products and G.I. sheets, 0.9 percent and 0.6 percent from zero growth; paints, 0.2 percent from -0.2 percent; exterior electrical equipment/supplies, 1.4 percent from 0.2 percent; interior electrical fixtures and devices, 0.7 percent from -0.4 percent; and electrical rough-in materials, 0.4 percent from 0.3 percent. On the other hand, price increases for sand, stone and gravel were slower at 1.3 percent from 2.2 percent; cement, 0.1 percent from 0.5 percent; and wood products, 1.4 percent from 4.2 percent. Prices of plywood and plumbing fixtures correspondingly dropped by -2.4 percent and -0.5 percent from 0.2 percent and -0.3 percent, respectively. Structural steel retained its last month's rate of -0.5 percent while prices of the rest of the commodity groups generally remained stable as they posted zero growth this month.

    The annual growth on the CMWPI in NCR was slightly higher at 12.3 percent in June from 12.2 percent in May. Higher rates were seen in the prices of the following commodity groups: sand, stone and gravel, 15.7 percent in June from 14.3 percent in May; lumber, 12.4 percent from 10.4 percent; wood products, 19.2 percent from 17.6 percent; glass and glass products, 21.7 percent from 20.6 percent; paints, 17.2 percent from 17.0 percent; G.I sheets, 20.3 percent from 19.2 percent; interior electrical fixtures and devices, 34.9 percent from 34.6 percent; and electrical rough-in materials, 40.8 percent from 40.2 percent. Slower add-ons were noted in the prices of cement, plywood, fuels and lubricants, hardware, concrete products, plumbing fixtures, structural steel and exterior electrical equipment/supplies. Inflation rates recorded in asphalt, aluminum and other metal products, blasting materials, and machinery and equipment rental were zero. The rest of the commodity groups still moved at their last month's positive rates.
