This 2007 figure translates to an annual population growth rate of 2.57 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower by 0.04 percentage point than the 2.61 percent annual population growth rate recorded from 1995 to 2000./p p align="JUSTIFY"bBalibago topped as most populated barangay/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"Of this highly urbanized city's 33 barangays, Barangay Balibago (10.7 percent) was the most populated, followed by Malabanias (7.5 percent), and Cutcut (7.2 percent). Barangay Virgen delos Remedios (0.5 percent) was the least populated barangay./p p align="center"img alt="Figure 1" src="http://census.gov.ph/data/pressrelease/2009/pr0955f1.gif" style="width: 282px; height: 276px;" //p p align="JUSTIFY"bAverage household size was 4. 5 /b/p p align="JUSTIFY"The number of households increased by 12,944 from 56,575 in 2000 to 69,519 in 2007. Household population likewise rose to 315,883 persons in 2007 from 267,304 persons in 2000. The average household size in 2007 was 4.5 persons, lower than the average household size (4.7 persons) posted in 2000./p p align="JUSTIFY"bSex ratio remained at 99 males per 100 females /b/p p align="JUSTIFY"Of the household population, females (50.3 percent) outnumbered the males (49.7 percent) for a sex ratio of 99 males for every 100 females. In 2000, the sex ratio was also computed at 99 males per 100 females./p p align="center"img alt="Figure 1" src="http://census.gov.ph/data/pressrelease/2009/pr0955f2.gif" style="width: 283px; height: 333px;" //p p align="JUSTIFY"bMedian age up by 1 year /b/p p align="JUSTIFY"The household population of Angeles City posted a median age of 23 years in 2007, which means that one half of the city's household population were below 23 years old. This figure was one year higher than the median age (22 years) computed in 2000./p p align="JUSTIFY"Approximately one in every three persons (33.1 percent) were under 15 years old. The highest share was noted in under 5 age group (11.7 percent), followed by age group 5 to 9 years (11.4 percent), and 10 to 14 years (10.0 percent). Males dominated the household population in age groups 0 to 14 years, 30 to 39 years, and 45 to 49 years while females led over the males in the other age groups./p p align="JUSTIFY"bSix out of 10 residents were of voting age/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"In 2007, the province's voting-age population (18 years and over) accounted for 60.6 percent of the household population. The proportion of voting-age population in 2000 was 59.5 percent. Moreover, the proportion of female voters (51.2 percent) in 2007 was higher than that of the males (48.8 percent)./p p align="JUSTIFY"bDependency ratio improved to 57 per 100 working-age population/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"The proportion of young dependents (0 to 14 years) to household population was 33.1 percent, while the old dependents (65 years and over) was pegged at 3.2 percent. The working-age population (15 to 64 years), meanwhile, accounted for 63.7 percent of the household population./p p align="JUSTIFY"The overall dependency ratio for Angeles City was 57 (broken down into 52 young dependents and five old dependents) for every 100 working-age population. This ratio was lower than the overall dependency ratio registered in 2000, which was 61 per 100 working-age population./p p align="JUSTIFY"bProportion of single persons on the rise/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"In 2007, 44.1 percent of the household population 10 years old and over were single, while 43.3 percent were married. Comparing these with the 2000 figures, a lower proportion of single persons (42.4 percent) but higher proportion of married persons (46.7 percent) was observed. The rest (12.6 percent) of the household population 10 years old and over in 2007 were either widowed, divorced/separated, had common-law/live-in arrangement, or had unknown marital status./p p align="JUSTIFY"Males dominated the single (52.1 percent of single persons) population 10 years old and over. The rest of the categories for marital status were dominated by females./p p align="JUSTIFY"bMore males pursued post baccalaureate courses than females/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"Of the household population five years old and over, 29.4 percent had attended or completed elementary education, 39.6 percent reached high school, 9.3 percent were college undergraduates, and 9.1 percent were academic degree holders. Majority of the academic degree holders were females (52.2 percent) but those with post baccalaureate courses were mostly males (58.5 percent)./p p align="JUSTIFY"In 2007, 6 in every 10 (60.8 percent) household population 5 to 24 years old attended school at anytime during School Year 2007 to 2008. The proportion of males who attended school (62.1 percent) out of the male population 5 to 24 years was higher than that of the females (59.6 percent)./p p align="JUSTIFY"bRatio of households to occupied housing unit improved/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"The total occupied housing units in Angeles City was 68,631 in 2007. This translates to a ratio of 101 households for every 100 occupied housing units, or about five persons per occupied housing unit. In 2000, the number of households per 100 occupied housing units was 105./p p align="JUSTIFY"bProportion of occupied housing units with strong materials of outer walls rose/b/p p align="JUSTIFY"Majority of the occupied housing units in 2007 had outer walls made of concrete/brick/stone (68.7 percent), up by 7.2 percentage points from the proportion of the same type of housing units in 2000. As to construction materials of the roof, majority (89.6 percent) of the occupied housing units had roofs made of galvanized iron/aluminum.
