NSCB Resolution No. 4
Series of 2000

DISCONTINUING THE CONDUCT OF THE QUARTERLY SURVEY OF EMPLOYMENT AND COMPENSATION IN THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AND THE QUARTERLY SURVEY OF EMPLOYMENT AND COMPENSATION OF LOCAL GOVERNMENTS

WHEREAS, the Quarterly Survey of Employment and Compensation in the National Government (QSNG) and the Quarterly Survey of Employment and Compensation of Local Governments (QSLG) are being conducted by the National Statistics Office (NSO);

WHEREAS, a review of the survey by the NSCB Technical Staff in line with the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System shows that data on employment and compensation of government workers are already available at the Commission on Audit and the Department of Budget and Management;

WHEREAS, the NSO sees the need to focus its limited resources to the production of statistics that are being demanded by government planners and the general public;

WHEREAS, the NSCB Technical Staff and the Technical Committee on Survey Design (TCSD), in view thereof, have recommended the discontinuance of the two surveys starting year 2000;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the recommendation of the NSCB Technical Staff and the TCSD which would allow the NSO to realign its limited resources to the conduct of other priority surveys. .

Approved this 15th day of May 2000, in Pasig City.
