Enjoining Agencies to Provide Assistance for the Conduct of the 2007 Census of Population

ENJOINING AGENCIES TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR THE
CONDUCT OF THE 2007 CENSUS OF POPULATION

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 121, otherwise known as the Reorganization Act of the Philippine Statistical System, declared that the National Statistics Office (NSO) shall be the major statistical agency responsible for generating general-purpose statistics and for undertaking such censuses and surveys as may be designated by the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB);
           
WHEREAS, there is a need to conduct the Census of Population in 2007 in order to update the information regarding the count of the population and some of its demographic and socio-economic characteristics;

WHEREAS, pursuant to the aforesaid need and Executive Order, the 2007 Census of Population will be conducted in August 2007;

WHEREAS, the assistance provided by other government agencies was instrumental to the successful conduct of previous census undertakings;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board enjoin all agencies enumerated in “Annex BR-08-2007-01” hereof to provide assistance to NSO.

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER that the assistance include, but not limited to, those identified in said annex and that such assistance be on cost-sharing as may be deemed appropriate by parties concerned.
