APPROVING A MODIFIED SCHEDULE FOR THE REGULAR MEETINGS
OF THE NATIONAL STATISTICAL COORDINATION BOARD

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), created in 1987 by virtue of Executive Order No. 121 (EO 121) as the highest policymaking and coordinating body on statistical matters, is tasked to formulate statistical policies to address various statistical issues and concerns; 

WHEREAS, the NSCB Executive Board composition per EO 121 includes the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General as Chairman;  the Undersecretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), as Vice-Chairman;  one representative each from the remaining Departments with the rank of Undersecretary;  the Deputy Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas;  the Administrator of the National Statistics Office;  the Secretary General of the NSCB;  the Executive Director of the Statistical Research and Training Center;  the Governor or City Mayor nominated by the League of Governors and City Mayors;  and private sector to be elected by other members of the Board, as members;

WHEREAS, under the Rules of Procedure approved by virtue of NSCB Resolution No. 1, s. 1987, “the designated members shall endeavor to personally attend the Board meetings to facilitate decision-making and policy-formulation on issues to be deliberated upon” and the Board shall meet on a designated schedule;

WHEREAS, NSCB Resolution No. 9, s. 2005, provides that the schedule of the meeting of the NSCB Executive Board shall be every second Wednesday of the second month of each quarter;

WHEREAS, the existing NSCB Executive Board meeting schedule poses conflict with the new schedule of Economic Managers’ Meeting which is now held every Wednesday where the NEDA Director-General, the Chairman of the NSCB Executive Board, sits as member;

WHEREAS, in consideration of the schedule of Economic Managers’ Meetings, there is a need to revise the schedule of the NSCB Executive Board meetings, to take into consideration also that Cabinet meetings are held every Tuesday;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve a new schedule for the regular meetings of the NSCB Executive Board, i.e., every second Thursday of the second month of each quarter, at 9:30 AM, at the Board Room of NEDA sa Pasig.
