Occidental Mindoro: Four in Every Five Housing Units Had Floor Area of Less Than 30 Square Meters (Results from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing, NSO)

Results of the May 1, 2000 Census of Population and Housing indicated a total population of 380,250 persons in Occidental Mindoro. As compared to the 1995 Census of Population, which stood at 339,605 persons, this translates an increase of 40,645 persons.

Nueva Vizcaya's Annual Growth Rate at 1.97 Percent (Results from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing, NSO)

Nueva Vizcaya registered a total population of 366,962 persons in the 2000 Census. This represented an annual growth rate of 1.97 percent. If the current population growth rate continues, the population of the province was expected to double in about 35 years. The number of households rose to 74,400, higher by 6,681 households from the 1995 figure. The average household size was 4.9 persons, slightly lower than the national average of five persons.

Dependency Ratio Down by Three Persons in Nueva Ecija

The population of Nueva Ecija, as of May 1, 2000, was 1,659,883 persons. This was up by 154,056 persons as compared to the figure in the 1995 Census of Population. The growth rate of the province showed an erratic trend in between censal periods since 1918. The period 1903-1918 recorded the highest growth at 3.38 percent, the lowest of which was during the 1939 to 1948 period. The late 90's showed a 2.11 annual growth rate, lower than the growth rate (2.61 percent) in the early 90's. If the current growth rate continues, the population of Nueva Ecija was expected to double in 33 years.

Northern Samar: Population Reached Half a Million Mark (Results from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing, NSO)

The Census 2000 results showed that Northern Samar registered a total population of 500,639 persons, higher by 46,244 persons over the 1995 results. This translated to a 2.11 percent annual growth rate, from 3.21 percent in 1995. A corresponding increase on the number of households was also recorded at 94,410 households, higher by 9,046 households over the 1995 figure. This resulted to an average household size of 5.3 persons, almost the same as the average household size recorded in 1995 but higher than the national average of five persons.

Negros Oriental: More Than One-Third of the Houses Were Built in the Latter 90's (Results from the 2000 Census of Population and Housing, NSO)

The 2000 Census of Population and Housing results showed that Negros Oriental registered a total population of 1,130,088 persons, higher by 104,841 persons over the 1995 Census of Population results. This figure recorded a 2.11 percent annual population growth rate, higher by 0.17 percentage point than the annual population growth rate during the 1990 to 1995 period. A corresponding increase on the number of households was also recorded at 227,160 households, higher by 22,029 households five years ago. This resulted to an average household size of 4.97 persons, almost the same as in 1995 (4.99 persons) and the national average of five persons.
