Population of Cotabato City Surged to Nearly 260 Thousand

The total population of Cotabato City in 2007 was 259,153 persons. It was higher by 58.2 percent from 163,849 persons reported in 2000. This means that the population of this chartered city grew annually at a rate of 6.52 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, or an increase of 4.14 percentage points from the annual population growth rate of 2.38 percent from 1995 to 2000.

Surigao City Comprised Nearly One Third of Surigao del Norte's Total Population

The total population of Surigao del Norte, was 409,468 persons as of August 1, 2007, representing an increase of 35,003 persons from the total population of 374,465 persons recorded as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.24 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, or lower than the PGR of 1.98 percent recorded for the period 1995 to 2000.

Benguet: Dependency Ratio Down by Four Persons

The province of Benguet registered a total population of 330,129 persons in the year 2000, up from 313,833 persons in 1995. This figure gave the province an average annual growth rate of 1.09 percent, an increase of 0.41 percentage point from the 1990 to 1995 period. The number of households was registered at 63,123, an increase of 4,588 households over the 1990 figure. This gave an average household size of 5.2 persons, a slight increase from 1995 (5.1) and the national average (five persons).
