This figure was higher by 48,947 persons over the population count of 497,239 persons in 2000. The recent population count of the province resulted to an annual growth rate of 1.30 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

The total population of Olongapo City as of August 1, 2007 was 227,270 persons, an increase of 33,010 persons over its total population of 194,260 persons in 2000.
