The province of Lanao del Sur had a total population of 1,138,544 persons as of August 1, 2007. This count is higher by 42.3 percent compared with the census count of 800,162 persons as of May 1, 2000. The increase in population count for the period 2000 to 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate of 4.98 percent.

Likewise, the household population of Lanao del Sur increased by 42.5 percent from 798,669 persons in 2000 to 1,137,987 persons in 2007. The number of households, meanwhile, grew by 42.0 percent from 117,435 households in 2000 to 166,785 households in 2007. The average household size in 2007 was 6.8 persons. The same average household size was recorded in 2000.

Lanao del Norte (excluding Iligan City) had a total population of 538,283 persons as of August 1, 2007. This is higher by 13.8 percent compared to the census count of 473,062 persons as of May 1, 2000. This increase translated to an annual population growth rate of 1.80 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

The household population of Lanao del Norte (excluding Iligan City) in 2007 was 537,559 persons, an increase of 13.7 percent from 472,646 persons in 2000. The number of households, meanwhile, increased by 17.2 percent from 90,091 in 2000 to 105,599 in 2007. The average household size in 2007 was 5.1 persons, lower than the average household size of 5.2 persons in 2000.

Butuan City registered a total population of 298,378 persons as of August 1, 2007. This count is 31,099 persons more than the total population of 267,279 persons recorded in the 2000 census. The increase in the population count of the city translates into an annual population growth rate of 1.53 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, slightly lower by 0.17 percentage point from the annual population growth rate of 1.70 percent for the period 1995 to 2000.

Population of City of Isabela Increased by Almost 15,000 Persons (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

The City of Isabela is the capital of the province of Basilan. In 2001, the province of Basilan became an administrative part of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. However, the City of Isabela remained as part of Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula).

The population of the City of Isabela was 87,985 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population (POPCEN 2007). This figure was higher by 14,953 persons over the population count of 73,032 persons in 2000. The recent population count for the city translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 2.60 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, higher than the PGR of 1.36 for the period 1995 to 2000.
