As of August 1, 2007, the total population of Mandaue City was 318,577 persons based on the 2007 Census of Population. This figure is higher by 58,849 persons over its total population of 259,728 persons in 2000. The total population of the city in 2007 translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 2.86 percent for the period 2000 to 2007. This was 3.50 percentage points lower than the annual PGR of 6.36 percent posted for the period 1995 to 2000.

Population Growth of Southern Leyte Slowed Down to 1.13 Percent Annually (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Population increased to 390,847 persons

The total population of Southern Leyte was 390,847 persons as of August 1, 2007, based on the 2007 Census of Population. This figure is higher by 30,687 persons over the total population count of 360,160 persons in 2000. These population figures translated to an annual growth rate of 1.13 percent for the period 2000 to 2007, lower than the 2.73 percent annual growth rate registered for the period 1995 to 2000.

Likewise, the household population of Southern Leyte increased from 359,738 persons in 2000 to 389,928 persons in 2007. The number of households, meanwhile, reached 82,538, or 9,644 households more than the number reported in 2000. The average household size in 2007 was 4.7 persons, slightly lower than the average household size of 4.9 persons recorded in 2000.

Population of Lapu-lapu City Increased by 34.8 Percent (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Lapu-lapu City had a total population of 292,530 persons as of August 1, 2007. This was higher by 34.8 percent compared to the census count of 217,019 persons as of May 1, 2000. These figures translated to an annual population growth rate of 4.20 percent for the period 2000 to 2007.

Northern Samar's Population Grew at a Rate of 1.30 Percent Annually (Results from the 2007 Census of Population)

Population increased by 49,120 persons

The total population of Northern Samar as of August 1, 2007 was 549,759 persons. This figure was higher by 49,120 persons over the 2000 Census figure of 500,639 persons. The population count of the province based on the 2000 and 2007 censuses translated to an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.30 percent, lower than the 2.11 percent PGR for the period 1995 to 2000.
