Complying with the Government’s directives to put a stop to the spread of CoVid-19, the conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH), which is originally scheduled to start officially on 04 May 2020, will be delayed until after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte finally lifts the Enhanced Community Quarantine. Another advisory will thereafter be issued accordingly.
In light of the CoVid-19 outbreak and in support of government efforts to contain the spread of CoVid-19, recruitment and hiring process for census workers and the series of training for field operations in preparation for the conduct of the 2020 CPH has been temporarily suspended until the Enhanced Community Quarantine is lifted. This measure is being done to help protect the health and safety of the public, PSA employees, census workers including those from the Department of Education, and other partners/stakeholders.
In line with our mandate, we must adhere to our core task to ensure a complete and accurate count in the 2020 CPH, but taking into consideration the health and safety of the public and all concerned in the midst of the Enhanced Community Quarantine. As we continue to monitor the CoVid-19 outbreak, the PSA will adjust field operations in the 2020 CPH as necessary, following the guidance of national and local health authorities.
