Today we strengthen our commitment to excellence by commemorating our 6th year anniversary. Since its official formation on 12 September 2013, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has been guided by its vision of being a ‘Solid responsive world-class authority on quality statistics and civil registration’. It is of great pride to see the PSA adapt to the changing needs of the society and the country while still strongly embracing its corporate personality.
The PSA has grown and continues to grow in terms of its number of employees and organizational structure to accommodate its increasing functions and responsibilities. Worth mentioning are two of PSA’s new endeavours: the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) and the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). Pilot registration for the PhilSys has begun on 02 September 2019 which signals our full dedication to deliver specific targets on schedule. It is a symbol of trust that the PSA is spearheading the implementation of the CBMS. It is thus our challenge to adapt to these new initiatives by delivering the best quality we can give in all our undertakings.
My interests are and will always be aligned with the interests of the PSA. My leadership is guided by three goals for the PSA: to harmonize all official statistics reported by the PSA, to introduce new techniques and technologies in statistics (NTTS), and to urgently address the issues concerning the Civil Registration. I believe that once we achieve these goals we would reduce and simplify overlapping processes, relieve PSA employees of arduous and unnecessary tasks and promote progress and efficiency within the organization.
We have challenging yet exciting times ahead and it is important that we continue to support one another. We are, after all, under one organization with one mission: to deliver relevant, reliable statistics and civil registration services for all. Let us think out of the box, welcome innovations and respond to change with a positive attitude while holding on to our values, keeping the highest standards and strengthening our commitment to the public. Mabuhay ang PSA!
