The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) releases the highlights of the 29th National Statistics Month (NSM) celebration. The 29th NSM was organized by the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) and spearheaded by the PSA. The 29th NSM Opening Ceremony held on 02 October 2018 and Closing Ceremony on 29 October 2018 were hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), respectively.

The 29th NSM carried the theme “Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Tourism Development.” The theme reflected the relevance of statistics in achieving a sustainable progressive tourism growth for our country. It also emphasized the need for statistics to identify potential tourism havens and also areas requiring interventions.

The highlights include details on the Opening Ceremony (and the 8th NSM Media Awards), Closing Ceremony (and the 28th NSM Awards), and interagency activities, i.e., 3rd PSA Says, 2nd PSS Bowling Tournament, and 1st PSS Outreach Program.
