Year-on-Year
The year-on-year growth rate of the CMWPI in NCR decelerated to 20.6 percent in November from 21.6 percent in October. This can be attributed to the slower annual movements seen in the prices of sand, stone and gravel (9.7% from 10.2%); fuels and lubricants (5.2% from 27.5%); metal pipes (16.2% from 16.4%); reinforcing steel (56.8% from 57.3%); and structural steel (32.6% from 34.3%). Meanwhile, annual gains were correspondingly higher in the prices of cement and asphalt. Price movements for the rest of the commodity groups were at their last month's rates while zero growth was still recorded in blasting materials and machinery and equipment rental.
NOTE :
Revisions of the monthly series from December 2007 to May 2008 were made due to the updates made by the official source on machinery and equipment rental rates last June 25, 2008.
