The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is beaming with pride as it congratulates another pool of 17 young statistics whizzes who emerged victors in the 23rd Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) regional championships held simultaneously on November 13, 2014. As a result, they will have to battle it out with one another to reign supreme in the National Finals slated on December 9, 2014 at the Toyota Asian Center Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City.

The young hopefuls together with their coaches will be provided with free accommodation and allowance, including a roundtrip fare for contestants residing outside the National Capital Region. At stake for the top five placers in the 23rd PSQ National Finals are specially designed trophies and cash prizes. Meanwhile, coaches of the winners shall likewise take home an amount equivalent to half of their student’s cash prize.
The PSQ is an annual competition which aims to appraise the competency and skills of college freshmen in statistics as acquired from high school. The Philippine Statistics Authority and the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. organized this noble undertaking in 1992 with the advocacy of drumming up public awareness and appreciation of statistics. The CHEd began endorsing this competition in 1994.
