Construction Statistics from Approved Building Permits for the Year 2004

Reference Number: 203
Release Date: 25 November 2005

Beginning this year, the National Statistics Office (NSO) will release annual construction statistics from approved building permits, to include final figures(revised) vis--vis the preliminary quarterly data posted at the NSO website.

The final data set will provide updates to the published data on the number, floor area and value for all types of construction. The source of updates are approved building permits collected at a later period because of data collection constraints. Hence, these documents were not available for inclusion in the tabulation of data at the designated timeframe.

The completeness of the number of building permits collected relies on the applications filed and approved by the Local Building Officials (LBOs) in all cities and municipalities nationwide. Building constructions without approved building permits are not included in the tabulation of data.

This special release presents only 2004 final data series. Final data series for the years 2000 to 2003 are also available upon request.
