As of 01 July 2020, the total inventory of duck was recorded at 12.42 million birds. This was 5.0 percent higher than the previous year’s same period stocks of 11.83 million birds. Population of duck in backyard farms declined by 0.8 percent while stocks in commercial farms increased by 16.5 percent. Of the total duck inventory, 63.2 percent were raised in backyard farms while the remaining 36.8 percentwere from commercial farms.
The top three regions in terms of inventory were Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and SOCCSKSARGEN. These regions contributed 60.7 percent to the country’s duck population.
