The Resolution further stipulates that the PSDP 2018-2023 will be endorsed to the Office of the President for issuance of a Presidential Proclamation and an Executive Order.

The PSDP 2018-2023 is a mechanism for setting directions, thrusts, and strategies of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) and contains priority statistical development programs and activities which are designed to provide crucial information support to the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022, AmBisyon Natin 2040, 0-10 point Socioeconomic Agenda of the administration, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among others.

Formulated through the collective efforts of the various Interagency Committees (IACs) and the Regional Statistics Committees (RSCs) as well as other PSS agencies, private sector, media, academe, and stakeholders at the national and subnational levels, the PSDP 2018-2023 envisions a solid, responsive, and innovative statistical system for an empowered Philippines and aspires to produce better statistics for better policies for better lives.

The PSDP 2018-2023, which is the 8th full edition of the PSDP, consists of more than 900 statistical development programs and activities amounting to more than ₱30B for a six-year period.

In line with its advocacy plan on the PSDP, the PSA conducted a national dissemination forum on 17 May 2018. Regional dissemination forums will also be conducted for Luzon on 30 May 2018, for Visayas on 28 June 2018, and for Mindanao on 09 July 2018.
