Slower annual increase of GRPI in the National Capital Region (NCR) is noted during the month

The annual increment of GRPI in NCR slowed down to 0.7 percent in October 2019. In the previous month, the annual rate was higher at 0.9 percent and in October 2018, 3.6 percent. (Table A and Table 2)

The annual change of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials index dropped further by 7.5 percent this month. Moreover, annual hikes were slower in the indices of crude materials, inedible except fuels at 2.8 percent; and miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.9 percent.

Meanwhile, higher annual gains were recorded in the indices of beverages and tobacco at 2.9 percent; and chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats, 1.0 percent. Annual movements in the indices of food remained at 1.1 percent; manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials, 1.4 percent; and machinery and transport equipment, 0.5 percent. (Table 2)
